Android 8.0 Oreo update coming to Honor 8

We have good news for Honor 8 users. Honor is actively working on Android 8.0 Oreo for the Honor 8 and is likely to release it very soon. In fact, a build is already available for download if you know where to look, but it’s just for the Chinese version of the Honor 8.

Apparently, the update weighs in at 1.3GB and can be found using Honor’s Firmware Finder tool. If it doesn’t show up, it means it’s not available yet in your region, so you’ll have to wait for Honor to release it.

Honor has attached a very long changelog to the Android 8.0 Oreo build, which confirms the smartphone will be getting loads of new features and improvements such as EMUI 8.0, faster AI-based optimizations, new floating Navigation dock, exclusive preloaded themes, and much more.

It’s unclear when exactly Honor will start pushing out Android 8.0 Oreo for Honor 8, but seeing that some builds are already available for download, it shouldn’t take the company too long now.
