About a week ago, a certification authority already confirmed the capacity of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus batteries. Anyone who still had doubts can now definitively let go. A Chinese trader already mentions spare batteries for the devices on this site.
And so we see that the 5.8 inch Galaxy S9, as expected, has a battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh. His big brother, the 6.2 inch Galaxy S9 Plus, gets a battery with a capacity of 3500 mAh. If you keep track of it, the batteries are exactly the same size as the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.
Since the much-discussed chapter ‘Galaxy Note 7 battery’, Samsung has not dared to put a larger battery in its top devices. Samsung has been taking a different approach since the S8: longer battery life must be the result of more efficient hardware and software.
We still hope that the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will have a better battery life than their predecessors. Nevertheless, it will ultimately have to prove in practice whether this is actually the case.
Samsung will unveil its new top devices on February 25th. According to rumors are very soon afterward actually in the shops: around 16 March. We can only guess at the recommended price – but it will not be lower than the S8 and S8 Plus.
