How to enable the Now Playing feature:

  1. Unlock your Google Pixel 2 or 2 XL and go to the Settings menu
  2. Scroll down and tap on Sound
  3. Select Advanced at the bottom of the page and scroll through the different options
  4. Tap on Now Playing
  5. Toggle Show on lock screen
  6. Additionally, you can turn on Also show notifications to have the music recognition feature show in the notification shade

  3. Let go when you see the screen flash. Your screenshot will show momentarily on the display
  4. The screenshot will be stored within the Photos application. You can also quickly share, edit, or delete your latest screenshot from the notification bar

How to take a screenshot with the Google Assistant

  1. Locate the content you wish to capture
  2. Long press on the home button, squeeze the handset Active Edge sides, or say “Ok, Google” to launch Google Assistant
  3. Say “Take a screenshot, ” and the Assistant will capture whatever is on your display
  4. You will then be able to immediately share your screenshot

Both the Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL have always-on ambient displays. This means that you will be able to effortlessly see the time and new notifications at a glance. Here’s how to this new feature on and off.

How to enable/disable Pixel 2’s ambient display:

  1. Open the Pixel 2’s Settings menu
  2. Scroll down and select Display
  3. At the bottom of the list of options, tap on Advanced to expand the menu
  4. Near the bottom of the menu, select Ambient display
  5. Toggle on or off the Always on option
  6. You can also enable/disable double tap to check the phone as well as waking the display when a new notification comes in
