HarmonyOS receiving first software update

HarmonyOS is a new microkernel-based operating system, developed by Huawei. It’s expected to be the new salvation of the Chinese tech giant ecosystem and an alternative to Google’s Android.

Huawei launched the HarmonyOS inside the Honor Vision TVs on August 10, 2019, it comes in pro and non-pro versions. It is similar to EMUI. Huawei has planned to improve the HarmonyOS through a new software update.

This HarmonyOS update is available for Honor Vision and Honor Vision Pro in china

  • Huawei Video:
    Added new channels in the Huawei Video app (China).
  • System:
    Added wallpaper features, users can enter settings to change homepage wallpaper.
  • Smart Connect:
    Added photo frame features, the user can use the remote to select the frame then switch it by the left and right keys.
  • Home Camera:
    Optimizes Digital Zoom Experience.
  • Smart Voice:
    Voice search and other smart voice feature enhanced.
  • Live Wizard:
    Supports remote switching of set-top box channels through a smart screen app.
  • Settings:
    Support the global menu.
  • Family Album:
    An added feature of deleting family album photos in batches.
  • My Channel:
    – Family album cover images can be customized with local pictures.
    – improvements for Camera
    – Added support for Honor Hunter game router.

How to Check for Update?:

Home Applications > Settings > System > Software Update, the TV will automatically scan your system version.

You can also turn on automatic update, via Home, select All Applications > Settings > System and turn the Automatic update switch.
