Jio Phone 3 said to come with a touchscreen display, Android Go integration: Expected price in India, specs

Reliance Jio’s growth has been unprecedented and has quickly climbed up to become one of the top 10 brands in the world, and has topped feature phone sales charts and currently a leader in feature phone market.

Jio Phone 3, Reliance Jio’s all-new ‘India ka smartphone’ already in the works, if a new leak is to be believed. The Indian telecom service provider Reliance Jio launched their JioPhone series in India back in 2017. They had started with the JioPhone, then launched the JioPhone 2 last year, and now Reliance Jio seems set to come out with a third version which will be called the Jio Phone 3. Reliance Jio’s growth has been unprecedented in the feature phone segment, and has quickly climbed up to become one of the top 10 brands in India, and has topped feature phone sales charts and is currently the largest feature phone vendor in the Indian phone market.

According to a report published by BeetelBite, the Jio Phone 3 will be available for a price of Rs. 4,500 which is a significant price bump when compared to earlier versions of the JioPhone. The report further establishes the fact that the Jio Phone 3 will be getting a 5-inch full touchscreen display. The Jio Phone 3 will also get 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD.

Regarding the camera specs, the Jio Phone 3 will feature a 5-megapixel camera at the back and a 2-megapixel selfie shooter up front. The report also quoted a Jio executive that Reliance Jio will start filling up stocks of the Jio Phone 3 at the offline stores starting July 2019. Customers who are interested can pre-order their devices starting from July this year, and they can get the JioPhone 3 delivered to them by August. The Jio Phone 3 will be available on sale via Jio Stores, Reliance Digital stores, and Jio’s official website.

As of currently, information regarding the Jio Phone 3 is limited, and there is no word on what operating system but according to speculations, the smartphone may arrive with Android Go interface.
