Samsung finally started rolling Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus

Samsung has finally started to rolling Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus or devices that participated in the beta program. This means that the rollout of normal devices will also start in the very short term.

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus that participated in the German Oreo beta test an update to firmware G950FXXU1CRAP and G955FXXU1CRAP is ready. Of course, the update is not as big as later for non-beta devices (487MB), because there was already a beta firmware on it.

This update also contains the security patch of the month of February . This makes the Galaxy S8 the first Galaxy to receive this latest patch.

There’s a lot that Oreo introduces to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, including a newer version of the Samsung Experience UX, and you can see all the major changes and new features in our What’s New With Android 8.0 Oreo in the screenshot.

Once you upgrade to Oreo, your device may perform even better than before. though it remains to be seen if the improved performance will stick after a couple of months.
