Samsung is planning to expand its Galaxy A series offering to include two new mid-range models – Galaxy A6 and Galaxy S6 Plus. These two smartphones will join the 2018 Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8 Plus smartphones and might act as the successors to the Galaxy A5 (2017) and the Galaxy A7 (2017) models.
Today there are new images of the two smartphones appeared. The Galaxy A6 is expected to feature a 5.6-inch display while the Galaxy A6+ will offer a larger 6-inch display. Both the phones will adopt Samsung’s InfinityDisplay design with support for taller 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
They are expected to be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7870 SoC, an octa-core CPU based on 14nm architecture. Both the smartphones will also differ in terms of memory with the Galaxy A6 supporting 3GB RAM and the A6+ offering 4GB of RAM. Out of the box, both phones are running on Android 8.0 Oreo.
There is less information available about the camera, but the images show that the Galaxy A6 has a single lens and the A6 Plus is equipped with a dual camera. A fingerprint scanner is placed below the camera, like Galaxy S9 series. Both models also have a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB-c connector. There is no word on their actual launch date or pricing just yet.
