Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus Cleared By Wi-Fi Alliance Ahead Of Android Oreo Final Rollout

Samsung has been running a Android Oreo Beta program for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Last week, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices were receiving fifth Oreo beta update.

Multiple version of the devices getting certifications over at the Wi-Fi Alliance. The Galaxy S8 variants cleared include model numbers SM-G950F (Europe), SM-G950FD (Asia – India, Singapore), SM-G950X/XN/XC (Global) and SM-G950N (Korea) while the S8+ has been cleared with model numbers SM-G955F (Europe), SM-G955FD (Asia – India, Singapore), SM-G955X/XN (Global) and SM-G955N (Korea).

Now it seems that Samsung is prepping to roll out the update to Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus phones worldwide. But, the unlocked US version is nowhere in the list, which carry model numbers SM-G950U1 and SM-G955U1 for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, respectively.

Earlier reports that stated the official update would be arriving by the end of January or maybe early February.
