Samsung Mobile on Wednesday published three new video teasers for its upcoming Galaxy S9 series of Android flagships, eleven days ahead of their official announcement at Barcelona, Spain-based MWC 2018.
The short clips that can be seen below all hint at various features of the company’s next pair of ultra-premium mobile offerings, with the trio being entirely dedicated to their imaging capabilities.
The first video adds more credence to recent reports that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will both support animated emoji, with the functionality itself presumably being somewhat similar to Apple’s Animoji which debuted with the iPhone X last fall. In essence, owners of Samsung’s new high-end devices will be able to animate their emoji database by recording their face, with the service being backed by Samsung’s facial recognition technology.
The second teaser suggests the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus won’t just boast improved low-light performance but may also debut enhanced dual-LED flash units, whereas the third clip hints at slow-motion recording capabilities being one of the selling points of the upcoming Android flagships.
Previous reports and Samsung’s own invitations to the February 25 product launch suggested the tagline of the next Unpacked event will be “camera reimagined” and all of the Galaxy S9 teasers released so far appear to be almost entirely centered around the imaging capabilities of the two smartphones.
