Samsung has launched the “Upgrade to Galaxy” Program in South Korea. The ‘Galaxy Experience Program’, which allows users to use the latest Galaxy smartphone for a month.
The “Upgrade to Galaxy” – is exclusive to South Korea for the time being, but if it proves successful in Samsung’s home country then we may see similar schemes pop up across the pond in the future.
This program allows iPhone users to test the Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy S8 for a month. There’s a nominal participation fee(50,000 won) for the program which is refunded after the trial period ends. Some conditions do apply, though.
The way the program works is incredibly simple. First, you submit an application online via an online from November 21-27. Samsung will then pick out 10,000 lucky applicants by November 30th who will then able to collect their device from a Samsung Digital Plaza store between December 1st-11th.
Those participating in the trial do have to pay a small fee (around $45), but this is refunded for customers who choose to buy the device at the end of the program. Customers who switch to a Galaxy smartphone will not only get their participation fee back but they will also receive freebies like JBL Go Bluetooth speakers.
Samsung officials said, “Through this Galaxy Experience Program, I want to give iPhone users the opportunity to experience the differentiated value of Galaxy and to select products.”
