The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is getting a new software update. A new software update which seems to bring the November Google security patches, including Krack fix.
This security patch fixes six remote code execution vulnerabilities found in the media framework and the system portion of the operating system.
In addition, Verizon is also rolling out a separate patch for the KRACK vulnerability. It is also likely that the software update includes fixes to six vulnerabilities found in Samsung’s proprietary skin.
The current update is identified by the build number “NMF26X.N950USQS2BQK2” and unsurprisingly, Verizon is distributing the new software in a gradual manner.
The flagship at hand is also expected to make the jump to Android 8.0 Oreo in the near future, though probably not before the end of the year. In any case, should you own an Galaxy Note 8, you can see if the update is available by going into the Settings » About phone menu and selecting the Download updates manually option.
